Documents
The Documents tab is where you design what your team prints: a delivery note, a job sheet, an order confirmation, a label. You place things on a sheet of paper; it prints as a PDF exactly as it looks.
Create a document
Click New document, give it a name and choose the table it prints (for example Orders).
In the panel on the right, with nothing selected, choose the paper: A3, A4, A5, A6, Letter, Legal or a custom size (labels), portrait or landscape.
Add elements from the toolbar and place them on the sheet.
Click Preview PDF, then Save.
What you can place
Fixed text: write fields inside it, for example Order {ref_no} for {client}, or App settings such as {settings.company_name}.
A field of the record, with or without its name in front. A picture field prints the picture.
Pictures from the App's Assets.
Lines, boxes and circles, with border, fill and rounded corners.
Today's date and the page number.
One table of lines, for example the products of an order: choose its columns, their width and names. When it does not fit, it continues on the next sheet, which repeats the rest of the document.
Working on the sheet
Drag to move (hold Alt for fine steps); pull the handles to resize; a line has a handle at each end.
Arrow keys move the selected element by 1 mm (Shift: 5 mm); Delete removes it; Ctrl+D duplicates it.
Set the font, size, bold, italic, underline, alignment and colours in the panel; bring an element to the front or send it to the back.
Backgrounds
Choose a background for the whole sheet: a picture (a scanned letterhead or pre-printed form) or an SVG drawing from the Assets, filling the sheet, fitted inside or at its own size, with a strength from faint to full. From the SVG Editor copies a drawing made in the SVG Editor App into the Assets. SVG drawings print as sharp vectors.
Where it prints from
Choose in the document's panel, or in Pages design: the record's page, the form of a saved record, each row of its lists, or several rows at once (tick the rows, then Print: one PDF, a sheet per record). People who may see the records may print them.
Let it happen by itself
Ask the designer to make the document automatically ("keep a PDF of the order when it is confirmed") or to attach it to an email; in the Notifications tab, choose it under Attach.
