How to install Marvin

1. Go to Settings.
2. Open Apps.
3. Search for Marvin.
4. Click Install.
5. Click Activate.

On activation Marvin creates a dedicated “Marvin” assistant user (the counterparty for every conversation) and seeds default settings. No new chat table is created — conversations are stored in the existing messages table.

After activation

1. Open Settings → Marvin.
2. Choose the active language provider. The default is the self-hosted local server, which is the only provider allowed to see real data.
3. If you are testing in development, set the environment to Development and you may use a third-party API — but only with fake data.
4. Save. Marvin now appears in the left menu for staff and in the client portal.

Requirements

A reachable language provider: either a self-hosted Ollama server (recommended for production) or an API key for a supported cloud provider (development only).
