Teburu: a kiosk for waiters and table captains. It is a simple full-screen view for an iPad on the floor that shows the tables, today's arrivals and the waitlist. Big buttons let the team seat guests, free a table, move a party, take a walk-in, book a table and add guests to the waitlist.
Teburu: administrators decide what the team sees after signing in. They can do nothing, ask whether to open the kiosk, or open it straight away, for every role or only some. They can also keep the team in the kiosk until they sign out. Administrators can choose to open the kiosk at every sign-in, and it is always one tap away in the top bar.
Updates
Teburu kiosk: a walk-in can sit at a table that is empty now but booked later. The kiosk seats them until that booking and says until when.
Teburu kiosk: guests more than 15 minutes late get a "Didn't come" button right in the arrivals list.
Teburu kiosk: when guests arrive with one more or one fewer, change the number with + and − on their booking. The time and table stay the same, and the guest gets no message.
Teburu kiosk: zoom in and out of the room plan with two fingers or the zoom buttons, and fit the whole room again with one tap.
Teburu kiosk: seat a large walk-in at several tables pushed together by tapping each table. The kiosk shows the total number of seats.
Teburu kiosk: a table whose time is up shows how many minutes over it is.
Teburu kiosk: when the Wi-Fi drops, the kiosk says so and shows the time of the last update. Buttons that change something wait until the connection is back. Nothing you typed is lost, and taps are never sent twice.
Teburu kiosk: guests whose whole sitting has passed without them move below the arrivals still expected, with a "Didn't come" button.
Teburu kiosk: tap the counters at the top for today so far: guests and tables served, booked guests and walk-ins, guests still to come, the waitlist, no-shows and cancellations.
Teburu kiosk: when nobody is seated and nobody is expected within the hour, the screen goes dark after 15 quiet minutes. It shows only the clock and the next booking. The tap that wakes it does nothing else.
Teburu kiosk: a walk-in can take a free table even when the table is meant for more guests, for example three guests at a table for four. When no table fits, the kiosk explains why.
Teburu kiosk: when booked guests arrive and their table is still taken, the kiosk asks. Either the guests at the table are leaving (free the table and seat the new ones), or the new guests take another free table.
Teburu kiosk: a Call button on each waitlist guest, to tell them their table is ready.
Teburu kiosk: print the day from the arrivals list. It shows every guest by time with the table, phone and notes, a tick for those already seated, and the totals.
Fix
Teburu: a table freed in the same minute its guests sat down stayed blocked for the whole sitting. It is now free at once.
