How to install i18ntranslator

Installation

1. Go to Settings.
2. Open Apps.
3. Search for i18ntranslator.
4. Click Install.
5. Click Activate.

The installer creates the App's own tables and its default settings. It does not touch any core table, and it can be run again safely: every statement is guarded, so a re-install on a workspace that already has the tables changes nothing.

Once activated, i18ntranslator appears in the left menu for every user whose role has at least one of the App's permissions.

After installing

1. Give the right roles access

Go to Settings → Roles, open a role, and find the i18ntranslator section. Four permissions are available:

• View translation packages — read the packages and their strings.
• Translate strings — edit target strings and run AI translation.
• Review and sign off translations — move strings to Reviewed.
• Manage packages, import, export and GitHub — everything else.

Administrators have all four automatically. A user also needs access to the project a package belongs to; that is the platform's own rule and this App does not work around it.

2. Turn on AI translation (optional)

1. Go to Settings → AI.
2. Configure at least one provider under Providers if the workspace has none yet.
3. Scroll to Operations and find Translate strings (i18ntranslator).
4. Tick Enabled.
5. Optionally give the operation its own provider, API key and model. Anything left blank falls back to the workspace default.
6. Save.

Giving the operation its own key is the recommended setup: the provider's own dashboard then shows exactly what translation costs, separately from every other AI feature.

Everything except the Translate with AI button works without this step.

3. Create the first package

1. Open i18ntranslator from the left menu.
2. Click Add package.
3. Give it a title, choose the project it belongs to, and set the source language.
4. Save.

Requirements

• NIZU Cloud WorkSpace 3.0 or later.
• An outbound HTTPS connection to api.github.com, only if you use the GitHub connection.

Uninstalling

Deactivating the App hides it without touching any data. Uninstalling drops the App's tables and deletes its settings, which permanently removes every package, key, translation and history entry.

The language files that were imported are not removed: they are project files, they belong to the project, and they stay there. That is the point of the import procedure — uninstalling this App never destroys the material it was given.

Upgrading

Updating the App re-runs its installer, which only adds what is missing. Existing packages and translations are left alone.
