# Payable within 30 days after the end of the invoice month

Invoices can now use an **End of month (EOM)** payment term. The due date is counted from the last day of the billing month instead of from the billing date. For example, an invoice billed on 10 March with a 30-day term is due on 30 April. An invoice billed on 28 March is also due on 30 April.

##### Setting it up

Go to **Settings → Invoices**. Above the existing days field there is a new **Payment term** dropdown with two options:

- **Days after the billing date**: the due date is the billing date plus N days. This is the current behaviour and remains the default.
- **End of month (EOM)**: the due date is the last day of the billing month plus N days. With N = 0, the invoice is due on the last day of the billing month.

A live example under the dropdown shows the result of your choice, for example: *billed on 10 March, due on 30 April*.

##### Where it applies

The selected term is used everywhere invoices are created:

- new invoices and credit notes
- project invoicing
- subscription invoices
- metered billing from Onboarding
- recurring invoices, which keep the same number of days after month-end

##### Existing invoices are not affected

Each invoice stores the term it was created with. Changing the setting later only affects new invoices; invoices already issued keep their original due date calculation. Credit notes never use the EOM term.

##### Reminders

EOM invoices receive a single reminder, sent on the due date, using the existing **due reminder** email template. They are excluded from the "before due date" and "overdue" reminders.

The reminder is only sent if at least one invoice reminder is switched on for the workspace.
